Feasibility Assessment
Here at Solect, we work with each potential client to perform an on-site assessment of the host site to evaluate the roof space, structure and membrane condition along with a preliminary review of the existing electrical components. Gathering this information allows us to develop a practical sizing of the opportunity and anticipated costs. Based upon the findings, we them compose a financial model which incorporates tax benefits, SREC values and long term electrical cost avoidance. Customers find this step invaluable in their decision process..
Engineering & Design
A customer specific system design begins upon contract execution. System drawings are prepared to reflect structural, electrical and solar photovoltaic requirements. In order to design a properly sized solar renewable energy system, drawings are based on each manufacturer's technical specifications for any given component. Solect leverages best practices working with its professional partners and an experienced in-house project management team which assesses and proposes the optimal system for the customer site.
Supply & Procurement
Solect uses only the industry's leading panel manufacturers' mounting technologies and electrical components to deliver a system which provides the optimal performance and quality for the life of the system. We work with our manufacturing and distribution partners to provide the most efficient delivery logistics as the most current and competitive prices.
- Solar Panels - Solect sources the latest PV technologies for its renewable energy system components from "best of breed" manufacturers, including both mono-crystalline and poly-crystalline modules, as well as amorphous silicon modules for the widest variety of applications in the commercial environment. By working with our large volume partners, we are guaranteed the most competitive pricing in the industry.
- Mounting Hardware Solutions - Mounting hardware for various photovoltaic applications including penetration-less systems (ballasted) for flat roof mounting, as well as fixed mounted solutions are considered in the design phase. Some projects use a combination of different mounting systems in order to provide maximum performance, structural integrity, and economics. Solect works with its structural engineers to design the most cost effective and long term infrastructure to meet each specific customer's site requirements.
- High Efficiency Inverters - Inverters which provide the highest quality utility grade signal for grid interactive renewable energy systems are carefully selected for service. The inverters which Solect incorporates into the system are designed specifically into each project. Solect works with our electrical engineer and installation team to ensure the overall integration of the system meets all of the electrical capacity ranges and is specified to local code requirements.
Planning & Project Management
The Solect project design and planning services team brings over 25 years of experience in the structural, electrical, solar, and construction industries to Solect's solar customers. The success of each project is dependent upon the expertise smoothly integrating from concept to financial modeling through installation; it is this focus to planning detail and project management which delivers the optimal system performance. Each project is headed up by one of Solect's Project Managers who is the dedicated focal point for coordination and communication. From initial assessment through system commissioning and ongoing system management, you can rest assured that your project is being professionally managed.
Delivery & Logistics Services
Solect's planning for timely product delivery allows projects to be completed according to set milestones and material requirements, as well as the phased delivery of mounting hardware, modules, inverters, data acquisition systems and monitoring appliances. We work with our partners to ensure that inventory is available and secured to help meet project timelines. Solect's "one stop shop" also means cradle to grave project delivery, insurance, and warranty support.
Installation
Solect conducts detailed construction planning to ensure potential roadblocks are resolved and all host requirements are accommodated. Starting with the engineering and construction phase, the project team keeps a rigorous deliverable schedule which includes a detailed, project specific checklist. By placing special emphasis on the engineering and construction phase of each project, Solect maintains a clear channel of communication with its installation teams. In the construction planning phase, the project team coordinates logistics to ensure such concerns as materials security, project oversight, and regularly scheduled status meetings are addressed. Solect provides complete and comprehensive system testing at every step of the installation process. This commitment to quality means the testing phase is rigorous and thorough. The team makes sure 1) the system has been constructed according to plan and abides by all building code requirements and 2) all system components, including inverter operation, module and string voltages, combiner boxes, disconnects, grounding, and monitoring systems, are fully tested. The entire system is then re-tested "end-to-end" to ensure it is performing to its maximum potential. Measuring power output from each sector of a photovoltaic array is a valuable part of our service, insuring the customer's confidence in their investment. Upon final installation, the team makes sure all technical and warranty documentation is provided and eliminates the need for the end-of-project paper chase.
Commissioning
Solect works with the local electrical utility to conclude system commissioning and confirms the system is certified for power generation metering, government incentives, and SREC revenues. The team ensures the local utility has inspected the system for technical compliance and oversees the resulting Interconnection Agreement and "Permission to Operate" letters, resulting in the Commissioning Report.
